Yes! If you’re looking to return or exchange your order for any reason, we're here to help. We offer free returns or exchanges for items in new, unwashed, unworn condition. Returns must be initiated within 30 days of receiving your order. You can exchange your product for a different product or a refund to the original payment method.
Please note the following exceptions to our return and exchange policy:
- Discounted items are final and cannot be returned or exchanged
- Returned items must be returned in original or similarly sized packaging
- Returned items must have no visible signs of wear or use
- Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
Submit an exchange request
To initiate an exchange, email hello@solidstate.clothing and include your order number and the product you would like to exchange for the item you previously purchased. We will then issue you a return shipping label.
Submit a return request
Initiate a return here or follow the instructions below.
- Log in to your account:
- In the Email field, enter your email address, and then click Continue.
- In your email account, open the email sent from our store and copy the six-digit verification code included in the email.
- Go back to the online store, and then enter a six-digit verification code.
- Click the order that you want to submit the return for.
- If your order has more than one item, then select the items that you want to return.
- Select a return reason and add a note for the store.
- Click Request return. If your return request is approved and requires shipping, then you receive an email with shipping instructions and a return shipping label. After the product is returned, you receive a refund. Please allow 5 business days for your refund to be processed by your financial institution.

Our philosophy is to work with local farmers. We believe in meeting farmers where they are and supporting them so they can get to a place to grow in a way that best supports the environment and their livelihoods.
The North Carolina Cotton T-Shirt uses cotton grown with regenerative practices, including cover-cropping and no-till. Weeds are our farmers' biggest issue, not bugs. They typically spray an herbicide twice a year.
We would love to be able to source organic cotton in our region. However, no organic cotton is currently grown in North Carolina due to the challenges of pests and weeds (most U.S. organic cotton is grown in the Southwest, where dry conditions make that less of a problem). We have been able to source organic cotton from North Carolina once and Texas a few times over the 2 decades. In 2023, the United States produced 12.4 million bales of cotton, 39,259 (0.3%) of these were organic.
Here comes the good news! We are currently working on securing a supply chain to make garments with Organic Texas Cotton. Hopefully you will see a domestic organic cotton t-shirt later this year.
Natural dye color may fade faster than synthetic dyes and can be altered by deodorants, detergents, light, and acidic foods like lemon juice. We select natural dye materials and processes that offer the best balance of colorfastness and sustainability possible.
Washing Recommendations
- Wash in cold water with a mild detergent by hand or on the delicate setting of your washing machine
- Wash inside out and only when needed
- Spot clean accessories
- Line dry in the shade or tumble dry low
It depends on where you are. Orders processed in the United States will take 5-7 business days to arrive. Overseas deliveries can take anywhere from 7-16 days. Delivery details will be provided in your confirmation email.
