Near the end of 2023, we experimented with hemp leaves from Brown Family Farms to create our Hemp Yellow natural dye. Light and wash fastness tests are done on all experimental natural dyes to see how light and repeated wash cycles will affect the color, however, with such delicate dyes, there is always variability. Recently, we noticed a Hemp Dyed T-Shirt that had faded along the fold lines. This discovery inspired the creation for the Flower Child.

Last year we started a natural dye garden, here at our office in Burlington, NC. Since then, we have harvested over 100 pounds of marigolds, and have been eager to use them. This Natural Tie Dye T-Shirt - Flower Child combines Hemp and Marigold dyes in a classic tie dye pattern, which remind us of the nickname “Flower Child” given to those in the 60s who advocated for love, beauty, and peace, just as we are doing today.
