Born from an imperfection, the Flower Child t-shirt combines two natural dyes derived from hemp leaves and marigolds, all grown in North Carolina. We collected hemp leaves from Brown Family Farms to create our Hemp Yellow naturally dyed t-shirts. Light and wash fastness tests are done to see how light and repeated wash cycles will affect the color, however, with such delicate dyes, there is always variability. After some time, we noticed a batch of the Hemp dyed t-shirts faded in some areas. This discovery inspired the creation for the Flower Child tie dyed t-shirt.

Last year we started a natural dye garden, right outside our office in Burlington, NC. Since then, we have harvested over 100 pounds of marigolds! The Natural Tie Dye T-Shirt - Flower Child combines hemp leaves and marigold natural dyes in a classic tie dye pattern, reminding us of the nickname “Flower Child” given to young folks in the 60s who advocated for love, beauty, and peace, just as we are doing today!
